"In Her Eyes, Exile Became Home" - Mahmoud Darwish

Darwish spent his life in exile, displaced from his Palestinian homeland. On the surface, the line suggests that through someone’s eyes; through love, recognition, or tenderness, the pain of exile found a place to belong. “Exile” is no longer just separation from homeland; it becomes emotionally survivable because another person becomes a refuge.
